Tiger Woods just missed the cut at the British Open, meaning he will not be playing this weekend. I really enjoy the British Open, or "the Open Championship", for two reasons - the very different courses and the time it is played.
British Open courses are usually links courses. It is usually really windy and rainy. There are almost no trees and the ground is very uneven. The courses are older than our country. And the tournament is played in the morning, which is great. It comes on in the early morning and is done by mid-afternoon. (I have a great memory of watching the Great Van De Veld Collapse of '99.)
I am sure the ratings will suffer without Tiger. I will still watch but I have to admit I am no longer excited about it.
In other news, I will see Harry Potter 6 this weekend. I have high hopes.
