FALL PREVIEW - Sunday

8PM

Extreme Makeover Home Edition - ABC

Amazing Race - CBS

Sunday Night Football - NBC

Simpsons/Cleveland Show* - Fox

If you are between the ages of 25 and 40, you had to have watched the Simpsons. It is the kind of show where you can jump in and out, skip a year, watch a batch of repeats. It has been a Sunday staple for 15 years... The Cleveland Show is a spin off of Family Guy. I am slightly curious but it will probably be less than Family Guy. How can't it be?... Ty and the boys do good work but I don't want to see sad story after sad story every week... Amazing Race wins the Emmy for best reality show every year and I have never seen an episode... Football is game dependent but most Sunday Night games are good and deserve some measure of your attention.

Verdict - DVR Simpsons and Cleveland and watch football.

9PM

Desperate Housewives - ABC

Three Rivers* - CBS

Family Guy/American Dad - Fox

Next Iron Chef - Food Network

Curb Your Enthusiasm/Bored To Death* - HBO

Dexter - Showtime

I watched 2 1/2 seasons of Housewives. That was enough for me... Three Rivers is about transplant donors, donees, and doctors. Not interested... Family Guy was a hidden gem ala Arrested Development, ressurected after it was the original TV DVD phenom, became a huge success and was hilarious, got a little old and tired, and is now poised for a bounce back... I am over American Dad... I love Next Iron Chef if for no other reason than AB is the host... Curb is the hottest show on TV thanks to the Seinfeld reunion... I have a gut feeling Bored to Death is going to be the funniest new show on TV. It features Jason Schwartzman (of Wes Anderson fame), Zach Galifianakis (the bearded guy from The Hangover), and Ted Danson (uh, Sam Malone) in a modern noir detective comedy... Dexter is a killer show (pun on the house)

Verdict - Best hour of TV of the week. Curb and Bored are must watch. Family Guy will be DVR'd. Dexter will be watched On Demand, and Next Iron Chef will be on a bunch of times over the course of the week.

10PM

Brothers & Sisters - ABC

Cold Case - CBS

Mad Men (in progress) - AMC

**10:30** Entourage (in progress) - HBO

Californication - Showtime

It is all testosterone baby. Mad Men, Entourage, and Californication are all must see shows. Entourage is almost done, Mad Men is about half way though, and Californication is fresh in my mind.

Verdict - Man Shows.

Recap - The best night of TV and football make Sunday a day to stay in. It is there to soften the blow that is the realization that the work week is staring you in the face. Here is how to work the DVR...

8:00-9:15 - Football or Simpsons/Cleveland
9:15-9:40 - Curb
9:40-10:05 - Bored
10:05-10:30 - Californication
10:30-11:00 - Entourage
11:00-12:00 - Football/Dexter
